French 19th Century Fine Pearl Diamonds 18 karat Yellow Gold Star Pendant Brooch

Pendant-Brooch in 18 karat yellow gold, horse head hallmark and silver.
Antique brooch that can be converted into a pendant and vice versa. It features a chased star adorned in the center with another black enameled star adorned with antique cushion-cut diamonds and fine half-pearls, all held in place by silver claws. A round open ring forms the hoop and can be removed. A pin with a folding safety hook can also be removed. A rack-and-pinion system removes the central star studded with diamonds. This part could have been positioned on another piece of antique jewelry, which unfortunately has not survived.
Total weight of the diamonds : 1 carat approximately.
Height : 4,5 cm approximately, width : 4,3 cm approximately, thickness : 13 mm approximately.
Total weight of the jewel : 19,4 g approximately.
Authentic antique jewel - French work from the second half of the 19th century.
Our opinion : Antique jewelry with a star theme is typical of the second half of the 19th century. This antique transformation brooch was part of a much larger set.
