French 19th Century 18 Karat Yellow Gold Long Necklace

Necklace in 18 karat yellow gold, eagle head hallmark.
A splendid antique chain, originally used to hold an antique pocket watch; it features links with geometric, articulated lines. At one end is a chiseled motif depicting a gloved hand holding a screw-lock clasp. This clasp can be used to attach a pendant or to secure the end of the chain, creating a double-strand necklace. A sliding link engraved with arabesque motifs adorns both strands of the chain.
Length : 67 cm approximately, thickness of the mesh : 2 mm approximately.
Length of the slider : 15.3 mm approximately, width : 12.1 mm approximately, thickness : 8 mm approximately.
Length of the clasp : 3,5 cm approximately, width : 10.2 mm approximately, thickness : 5.2 mm approximately.
Total weight of the jewel : 14,9 g approximately.
