French 19th Century Onyx Diamonds Fine Pearl 18 Karat Yellow gold Cross Pendant

This antique cross is set in flat onyx and features geometric lines. It is set with applied antique cushion-cut diamonds held in silver claws. The inner corners of the cross are adorned with 4 half-pearls, also claw-set in silver. The large, black-enameled, 18 Karat yellow gold hoop is adorned in the center with a line of falling chased motifs. The back is adorned with a yellow gold cross delicately chased with acanthus leaf motifs.
Total weight of diamonds : 1,10 carat approximately.
Height : 7 cm approximately, width : 3,7 cm approximately, thickness 8.2 mm approximately.
Total weight of the jewel : 14 g approximately.
Authentic antique jewel - French work from the second half of the 19th century. Tiny onyx chip on one of the branches.

Story of the jewel : This cross was offered for the engagement of a young woman from a famous family of doctors in the Savoy region.
