French Rouen 19th Century 18 Karat Rose Gold Regional Cross Pendant

Cross in 18 karat rose gold.
Called the Croix de Rouen, this important regional jewel consists of a cross and its pendant. Made of slightly domed gold plates, the two parts are pierced and set with small rhinestones.
Height : 5.3 cm approximately, width : 4.9 cm approximately, thickness : 7.3 mm approximately, height of the slider : 2 cm approximately, width : 2.2 cm approximately, thickness : 7.8 mm approximately.
Total weight of the jewel : 13,1 g approximately.
Pendant sold alone, without its chain of presentation.
Authentic antique jewel - French work from Normandy dating from the second half of the 19th century. Weld marks on the back of the slide.
Our opinion : The Rouen cross was worn with its clasp on a black velvet ribbon, but it could also sometimes be found on a gold chain with a jaseron link. These crosses were very popular in Normandy, but were also brought back from tourist trips to the region as they were a highly prized souvenir.
