French 19th Century Citrine 18 Karat Yellow Gold Brooch

Brooch in 18 karat yellow gold.
This voluminous antique brooch is oval in shape and adorned on top with a large faceted oval citrine held in place by numerous prongs, beaded and decorated with grainetis motifs. The surrounding decoration is openwork and formed by alternating domed heart-shaped motifs, edged with grainetis and small domes set with the same type of decoration. On the back of the antique brooch is a pin with a safety clasp.
Length : 4 cm approximately, width : 3 cm approximately, thickness : 11.5 mm approximately.
Total weight of the jewel : 11,2 g approximately.
Antique brooch - French work of the early 19th century. Posterior brooch transformation.
Our opinion : Late mounted in citrine brooch, this antique motif decorated with grainetis was probably originally a cuff bracelet clasp forming part of a large set of jewelry.
