The Belle Epoque jewelry presents a continuity with the jewelry of the second half of the nineteenth century. These are the craftsmen who did not follow the Art Deco movement. The Belle Epoque is characterized by classic jewelry very stacked. The technique is refined, the settings are more precise especially diamonds. The shapes in vogue were ribbons, knots or crosses, and there were swirl rings, Toi & Moi rings, or necklaces that could be transformed into brooches. Most of the jewelry is made of matte or satin yellow gold. Platinum, already used since the beginning of the 19th century on high quality jewelry, is becoming more and more present, mainly to set diamonds and precious stones, its hallmark being officially registered in 1914.
