French Empire Malachite Cameo Gold Necklace

Necklace in 18K matt yellow gold necklace, eagle head hallmark.
Consisting of golden vine leaves and bunches of grapes hinged together, the centrepiece of this unusual necklace is a malachite cameo of a grinning ‘Bacchus’. The clasp is a rectangular ratchet of matt gold. The cameo dates from the 19th Century, the supporting golden necklace was created by our workshop.
Length: 45 cm, mesh: 1.5cm - Cameo: Length: 3.2 cm, width: 3 cm.
Our opinion: This piece of jewellery was imagined and created in the Empire style, entirely by hand. The finely worked leaves and bunches of grapes beautifully enhance the wonderfully expressive malachite cameo.
